CODS is now the proud recipient of India's FIRST Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence (BSCOE) designation in India’ this validates our enduring commitment to providing the safest and highest quality of care to our patient population.
Spearheading TEAM CODS is Dr. Lakdawala, one of Asia’s most reputed and recognized laparoscopic surgeons and obesity experts. Affectionately known as Dr. Muffi, Dr. Lakdawala enjoys the distinction of pioneering the largest series of Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgeries (SILS) in Asia and the world with an incredible success rate. It was also due to his tireless efforts that the guidelines governing appropriateness for the use of bariatric surgery were revised to suit the Asian population where US based National Institute of Health (NIH) protocols were previously the gold standard for patient selection. Painstaking research on the differences in the Asian and Caucasian body type resulted in overturning the NIH guidelines and firmly planting the new Asia-specific markers. This earned him the distinction of being Chairman, “Position Statement Committee of IFSO”. 
CODS comprises a team of highly motivated and qualified medical and management professionals. Each team member brings with them vast experience, that culminates into the wellbeing of each patient. At the core of the team is Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala who brings with him rich experience of having performed one of the largest number of bariatric patients in India.
